Shelter in Paradise

Shelter in Paradise

FYI folks, we are all good—but there is some unrest in our area right now. This has made the national news in US, Canada, and Mexico so you will probably see it. Apparently the government has killed a big cartel leader. In retaliation, the cartel is lighting vehicles on fire and blocking roads all over our state—Jalisco. The situation is that the cartel is trying to block traffic to make it harder for the authorities to move around. There is no indication of any violence towards people. The airports are closed, all flights cancelled and they are telling folks to shelter in place across the state while they clean this up. We could not get out of Barra if we wanted because the highways are blocked! That said—we are in a sleepy corner of all this and there is nothing going on where we are. There was supposed to be a big Carnaval parade tonight downtown and that has been cancelled. So—for now, we are just enjoying sleepy paradise as usual. Will update if anything needs updating. We feel completely safe.

We could not get out of Barra if we wanted—but we feel completely safe.
Now: the Southlands
Morning—and southward
Next stop: Twain country
South along the river
One more night in town
And then the plan went sideways
Now turn up the music
Keep driving south
