Colorado–Utah border
Hovenweep National Monument
One of the most remote national monuments we have been to—and glorious in that way.

One of the most remote national monuments we have been to, it’s almost an hour from anything, and glorious in that way. Amazing to see these structures still standing in this condition, constructed around 1200-1300CE. It’s on the border between Utah and Colorado.
We have driven by signs for this place for years but only now have we taken the time to linger and experience it. Worthy of the time and the drive. I’ll let the pictures do the talking this time.

Oddly a cool front came through and we only hit mid 70s today, grey skies and even some rain! Haven’t seen rain or any precip at all since . . . Texas last November! Crazy.
We will always return to this area. On to Salt Lake City tomorrow!
Worthy of the time and the drive.
