Beach Bums

Semana Santa on the beach south of Mazatlán.
Semana Santa on the beach south of Mazatlán.

A couple of days parked right on the beach south of Mazatlan, just soaking it up. We get on the cargo ferry to Baja today, so hopefully that all goes smoothly. We think we know what we are doing now! We are excited to be heading for “familiar” territory on Baja, but at the same time we will miss the more tropical mainland, trading in some papaya and mango foliage for some cactus. Semana Santa (Holy Week) is in full swing here, so the beaches are full of Mexican families rather than gringos. It’s a bit more chaotic but fun and lively!

Now: the Southlands
Morning—and southward
Next stop: Twain country
South along the river
One more night in town
And then the plan went sideways
Now turn up the music
Keep driving south
